Job description

About the role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract for an experienced digital copywriter to support a major financial services business. The focus of the role is to create customer-led content that helps business audiences understand growth, change, and digital transformation.

You will be part of a collaborative marketing team, producing high-quality content for owned digital channels. The work will contribute to stronger engagement, better organic visibility, stronger brand credibility, and clearer explanations of complex financial products and services.

The position involves close partnership with colleagues across marketing, product, digital, data, and insight functions to deliver content that supports both business growth and customer success.

Key responsibilities

  • Write clear, persuasive, and regulation-aware digital content for business banking audiences across websites, landing pages, campaigns, and content hubs.
  • Develop search-optimised copy that supports organic traffic growth, discoverability, and customer interaction.
  • Create insight-based articles, how-to guides, educational material, and thought leadership content that improves trust and understanding.
  • Turn complex financial products and services into straightforward, accessible language for business customers.
  • Work alongside SEO, product, design, and digital marketing teams to produce joined-up content solutions.
  • Make sure all copy follows brand standards, tone of voice guidance, and relevant regulatory expectations.
  • Edit, proofread, and refine content to ensure it remains accurate, consistent, accessible, and polished.
  • Use analytics, performance data, and customer insight to improve content impact over time.
  • Contribute to campaign planning and editorial calendar development aligned with wider business goals.
  • Balance several projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Keep up to date with developments in digital content, platform changes, and industry best practice.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in digital copywriting, content creation, or content marketing, preferably within financial services, B2B settings, or other regulated sectors.

A solid grasp of SEO, keyword research, and search-led optimisation is important, along with strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability across different formats and audiences.

You should understand user journeys, conversion-focused content, and customer experience principles, and be comfortable using LLMs and AI-assisted content tools in a responsible way.

The role also requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work well with marketing, compliance, legal, product, and digital stakeholders, and a data-driven approach to content decisions.

Strong organisation, initiative, commercial awareness, and an interest in how content contributes to business growth are also essential.

Additional information

This role is based in the London area, United Kingdom and is onsite. It is a contract position with a 12-month fixed-term duration.

A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related subject is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
