Job description
Assignment overview
This is a short, remote, task-based online volunteering assignment with no contract attached. It is not a paid role, and successful completion results in a certificate of appreciation. The selection and collaboration process is handled independently, and the volunteering programme itself is not involved in recruitment.
Organization background
UNAIDS is the United Nations programme leading the worldwide response to end AIDS by 2030. Its strategy focuses on eliminating new infections, discrimination, and AIDS-related deaths while expanding access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care and linking the HIV response with wider health and development goals.
Assignment context
The UNAIDS Multi Country Office for Uganda and Tanzania is looking for support in communications work across online platforms and for a quarterly newsletter publication.
What the volunteer will do
- Plan a social media calendar aligned with national activities and intended to broaden reach to an international audience.
- Produce engaging digital content such as captions, infographics, photos, and videos, while following the organization’s branding and design standards.
- Work through briefing documents shared by UNAIDS to keep messaging consistent and strategically aligned.
- Assist with the quarterly newsletter, scheduled for early July, by designing and laying out the final version in Canva using an approved template.
- Prepare and submit a closing report that summarizes the work completed and the outputs delivered.
