Job description

Role Overview

Aviva Canada, through Solus and the Aviva AutoCare Centre, is building a modern collision repair experience focused on removing friction for customers and helping them return to normal life sooner. This new facility is designed around advanced tools, contemporary amenities, and a more comfortable workplace.

The company is hiring a Detailer to support day-to-day operations at the Aviva AutoCare Centre. The position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, and is centered on preparing repaired vehicles for handover so they leave in excellent condition, with the cleanliness and presentation standards expected in the collision repair industry.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Join a forward-looking team that is rethinking how collision repair work is delivered.
  • Work in a newly built facility with modern equipment and technology.
  • Enjoy a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable work setting with updated amenities.
  • Contribute to shaping what a future-ready autobody shop can look like.

Key Responsibilities

The detailer will be responsible for the final stage of vehicle preparation after structural, body, and paint work is complete. The goal is to return each vehicle to the customer in a condition that matches or exceeds its pre-accident state.

  • Complete the final cleaning of repaired vehicles before they are delivered.
  • Vacuum and clean interior areas affected by repair activities.
  • Clean glass, interior panels, and other surfaces to remove dust and shop residue.
  • Carry out final inspections to catch cosmetic issues before handover.
  • Assist with masking, prepping, or covering vehicle interiors and exteriors when needed.
  • Transport vehicles between work areas, stalls, and parking locations.
  • Keep the detailing bay, supplies, towels, and tools tidy and organized.
  • Support the workshop lead in maintaining production flow, order, and cleanliness.
  • Observe all safety procedures when using chemicals, coatings, and shop equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive detailing experience is preferred, particularly in a collision repair setting.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, compounds, waxes, and polishing equipment.
  • Ability to spot imperfections in paint and body repairs.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. during a shift.
  • Strong work habits and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and care in finished work.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Good communication skills for working with production and management teams.
  • Solid time management and the ability to meet delivery schedules.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $40,000 to $55,000 annually, with the exact amount based on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
  • Medical and dental coverage.
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus, based on performance and Aviva AutoCare Centre results.
  • Access to retirement savings options, including an optional group RRSP.
  • Competitive vacation package.
  • Opportunities for career growth and development.
  • Support for professional development and education.
  • Uniforms provided according to role requirements.
  • A clean and safe workplace with on-site showers and a break room.
