What the job involves

The work includes washing vehicle exteriors using appropriate cleaning products, waxing and buffing surfaces, vacuuming interiors, cleaning upholstery and other interior surfaces, drying with air compressors and cloths, and applying protective chemicals to help prevent stains and wear. The role may also involve using dyes, paints, and waxes on leather or fabric surfaces, as well as cleaning grease from engines or engine compartments.

Additional duties may be assigned by management based on operational needs. The position also involves driving, detailing, and cleaning vehicles while maintaining a high standard of service and cleanliness.

Customer service and quality standards

The employee is expected to help maintain the store’s facilities and support high-quality service delivery. That includes ensuring customers receive prompt, courteous service, handling questions or complaints quickly, and working toward timely resolution. Quality inspection of both personal work and that of teammates is also part of the role.

Working conditions

• This is a physically active position that requires frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and repeated entry and exit from vehicles during the shift.
• Some work may be performed outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• You will handle and move many vehicles throughout the day.
• Work must be done using safe, OSHA-approved products such as window cleaner, tar remover, and tire shine.
• The job involves continuous use of the spine, hands, wrists, and fingers.
• You may occasionally need to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Clear hearing and vision are necessary, along with the ability to receive detailed instructions verbally.
• You must be able to notice small defects such as streaks, missed vacuum spots, or smudges on glass and painted surfaces.
• You are expected to work urgently and respect customers’ time.
• Strict compliance with uniform and grooming rules is required.

Requirements and candidate profile

The ideal applicant should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, learn quickly, work effectively with a team, and read and follow instructions accurately. A strong respect for customers’ personal vehicles is important, along with punctuality and the ability to stay focused while on duty. The role also requires the ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

Availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays may be required to meet production demands.
