This position sits within PUMA’s women’s training apparel design area in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. The role focuses on bringing brand-aligned, commercially relevant, and innovative apparel concepts to life while working closely with cross-functional partners. Key responsibilities
- Create and execute original apparel designs that align with the brand, product category, and overall strategy.
- Manage the design journey from the first idea through to final production approval.
- Help shape each season’s creative direction and support the Director or Teamhead in guiding the team through implementation.
- Prepare and deliver concepts, sketches, and final design presentations in a clear and persuasive way for internal teams, product partners, and external stakeholders.
- Work across functions to support a complete product view and a consumer-focused approach grounded in the brand perspective.
- Bring product, functional, and technical development considerations into design work to improve business outcomes and strengthen consumer engagement.
- Question and refine global brand positioning guidelines when needed so new product and program ideas can be considered appropriately.
- Track market movements and gather current information on design trends and developments, using that insight effectively in the work.
- Support the team in keeping projects aligned with the PUMA development calendar.
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience designing apparel for one or more leading footwear, lifestyle, or sports brands.
- Strong understanding of sports performance apparel, fabrics, and emerging industry technologies.
- Well-developed eye for color, materials, and trends.
- Advanced CAD ability using Adobe tools, plus working knowledge of MS Office, especially PowerPoint; 3D software knowledge is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- A portfolio must be submitted with the application.
