Position Overview

This position is a full-time, on-site role based in New York City, offering an annual salary range between $75,887 and $90,663. The Designer will focus on researching, creating, and developing products for Men’s and Boys’ Activewear and Baselayer lines, serving private label and licensed brands, aligning designs with market trends and client expectations. This role requires collaboration with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to leverage our vertical supply chain and global sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Innovate by researching and monitoring trends continuously to develop seasonal presentations including digital look books, prototypes, fabrics, and silhouettes, ensuring completeness and accuracy while collaborating with sales, merchandising, and PD teams.
• Create sketches and maintain detailed technical specification sheets (tech packs); utilize 3D design tools for colorways and line sheets; guide fabric development and trend research; manage sample creation and uphold deadline requirements in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with the Senior Graphics Manager to fulfill artwork requirements, maintain communication across teams to address design needs, support tech pack updates, and collaborate with sales to keep line sheets current and negotiate costs and delivery impacts.
• Adopt an entrepreneurial approach to decision-making and communication, ensuring adherence to schedules, resolving issues effectively, maintaining clear communication with retail partners, and continuously improving product development processes for enhanced cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• BFA degree in Art, Fashion Design, or a related discipline; Graphic Design skills are advantageous.
• A minimum of four years’ experience in apparel design and product development, particularly working with Walmart.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, solid understanding of apparel fabrics and product development, plus working knowledge of patternmaking and technical design.
• Experience with screen printing and sublimation techniques; knowledge of textile development and 3D design is a bonus.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, excellent organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to adapt quickly to new software and workflows.
• Self-driven, proactive team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
