Overview
ROBINSON MILLS & WILLIAMS is an award-winning architecture and interior design practice known for its collaborative studio culture and focus on creating engaging workplaces for leading companies. The firm is growing and is looking for an Architecture Designer 1 to contribute to its San Francisco studio.
Role Summary
This position supports the development of architectural work across multiple project stages, from early programming and field checks through conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. The role is collaborative and includes guidance from designers and architects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing design ideas and preparing supporting documentation.
- Apply design judgment with attention to form, color, and material selection while solving problems.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Job Captain, and other teammates on programming, design direction, and scheduling to keep work moving appropriately.
- Create 3D studies, models, drawings, and renderings with supervision.
- Prepare presentation materials that clearly communicate design concepts.
- Build familiarity with building codes and related technical requirements.
- Help produce design and construction document sets.
- Support decisions around materials, finishes, furniture, and building systems.

Qualifications
A professional degree or an equivalent recognized credential is required. The employer is seeking candidates with 0 to 4 years of relevant experience, along with both design aptitude and technical aptitude. Introductory knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, rendering software, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite is expected.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
