Job Overview

Metflo Process, a prominent company specializing in turnkey engineering and equipment solutions for coal handling and mineral processing sectors, is seeking a Mechanical Draughtsman. The role involves generating precise engineering drawings to assist design and engineering teams in industrial project executions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create General Arrangement (GA), layout, fabrication, and detailed manufacturing drawings for various equipment.
  • Design drawings for equipment such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, feeders, crushers, screens, chutes, hoppers, bunkers, and structural components.
  • Generate plant layouts and equipment arrangements for coal handling and mineral processing facilities.
  • Develop detailed drawings of pulleys, idlers, conveyor galleries, supporting frameworks, platforms, walkways, and other mechanical parts.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and material take-offs from approved drawings.
  • Update and revise drawings in accordance with client feedback and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, fabrication units, and site teams concerning drawing requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to project-specific standards, engineering codes, and internal drafting conventions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including drawing numbering, revision control, and records.

Software Proficiency

  • AutoCAD (mandatory)
  • ZWCAD (preferred)
  • SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor (beneficial)
  • MS Excel and MS Office suite

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sound understanding of mechanical and fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with structural steel sections and fabrication methodologies.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols, dimensional tolerances, and engineering drawing norms.
  • Prior experience with bulk material handling, coal handling plants, conveyors, or mineral processing plants is advantageous.
  • Capability to read and interpret complex technical specifications and drawings.
  • Strong coordination abilities and meticulous attention to detail in drawings.
