Role Overview
As Design Director at LAUDO, you will be the guardian of the agency's creative vision, ensuring the quality and strategic impact of every project released. You will lead the team to surpass design excellence standards, encouraging innovation that resonates with core brand identities. Your leadership will foster a high-performing, autonomous team guided by rational optimism, creating an environment where designers take responsibility and produce exceptional work.
You will navigate clients through brand and digital projects empathically and authoritatively, positioning LAUDO as a strategic partner rather than merely a service provider. Balancing hands-on design expertise with inspiring leadership, you will optimize creative workflows (particularly with development) and collaboratively steer projects towards success alongside the Director Brand & Digital Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Set and uphold the standards of design excellence, pushing the team to innovate and align work with brand essence.
- Transform a unified team into a high-performance unit by creating frameworks that empower designers with responsibility and autonomy.
- Guide clients empathetically and confidently through complex brand and digital initiatives as a strategic partner.
- Exhibit excellence both in design execution and empathetic leadership, fostering inspiration and active participation.
- Develop and refine structures that support creativity, including workflow optimizations, especially towards development integration.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in well-established agencies with proven ability to lead teams through scaling phases.
- An outstanding portfolio showcasing how you bring brand universes to life across all digital and physical touchpoints.
- A strong drive to deliver the best work of your career, demonstrating that uncompromising quality comes from leadership and freedom.
- Deep understanding and strategic application of design and brand systems. Proficiency with AI tools, Figma, and the Adobe Creative Cloud is essential.
- Leadership style focused on coaching rather than commanding—directly addressing challenges, empathetically supporting the team, and communicating clearly in both German and English.
