Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
As a Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and keeping up-to-date accurate Building Information Models (BIM) for the project and connecting them to the construction programme for 4D planning. The position is centered on visual planning, construction sequence simulation, progress tracking through visuals, clash identification, and coordination with multiple project stakeholders. It serves as a link between digital planning systems and on-site execution to help improve productivity, foresee issues earlier, and strengthen control over project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Build, revise, and maintain 3D BIM models for architectural, structural, and MEP scopes using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D, ensuring alignment with approved IFC drawings and LOD requirements.
- Combine the 3D BIM model with the project schedule in Primavera P6 or MS Project to generate 4D simulations and show the construction sequence across time.
- Work closely with the planning team to keep BIM information aligned with the project WBS, activities, and milestone schedule.
- Run clash detection checks in Navisworks on a routine basis to spot cross-discipline conflicts early and support their closure through coordination discussions.
- Create 4D visual outputs that explain work fronts, resource sequencing, and near-term look-ahead plans to execution teams and clients for clearer planning and communication.
Tools and methods
The role involves using BIM authoring and coordination software, schedule integration tools, and model-based visual planning methods to connect design data with execution requirements.
