  • One Jeanswear Group: a North America-focused designer and distributor of branded and private label jeanswear.
  • The Jewelry Group: a design-led division with over 20 years of experience creating, sourcing, and selling elevated fashion jewelry.

Role Summary

This position is for a Design Assistant who will support the full design workflow, beginning with early sketching and continuing through sample handling and production follow-up. The opportunity is suited to a highly organized, proactive creative professional who wants to contribute to private label accounts in a fast-moving wholesale corporate setting.

The company is specifically seeking recent college graduates with a Fashion Design degree who are located in the New York City area and ready to develop their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support seasonal design development by creating sketches in Adobe Illustrator and preparing detailed tech packs and product specifications.
  • Manage design and prototype samples on a daily basis, including check-ins, tracking, and preparation for line reviews and presentations.
  • Handle presentation materials by building, updating, and maintaining both physical and digital boards.
  • Enter and maintain accurate product data in the PLM system for development and production styles.
  • Work closely with the Production team and coordinate trims, artwork layout packages, and other design-related assets.

Candidate Profile

  • The role is intended for applicants currently living in the New York City metropolitan area who can commute to the NYC office.
  • A recent Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Fashion Design is preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have 0 to 2 years of fashion design experience, with strong internship exposure in wholesale or apparel brands being especially valuable.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are required.
  • Working knowledge of PLM systems and MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is essential.
  • Applicants should bring excellent organization, a collaborative attitude, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and Employment Details

The annual base salary for this position is $60,000. Final pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and the assigned business unit.
