Role & Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete transportation operations including Last Mile, Middle Mile, and Line Haul deliveries for eCommerce.
• Strategize, supervise, and enhance daily transport schedules to guarantee timely pickups and deliveries.
• Build and sustain an extensive transport vendor network and collaborate with vehicle owners at several locations.
• Identify and acquire suitable vehicles aligning with business demands and secure vehicle availability during peak periods.
• Conduct negotiations on transportation pricing and agreements with transporters to optimize costs without compromising service standards.
• Track transport expenditures, assess route profitability, and apply measures to reduce costs.
• Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for transportation operations by regulating operational costs and enhancing profit margins.
• Coordinate activities across warehousing, operations, customer service, and clients to ensure smooth transport execution.
• Track transporter performance, enforce SLA compliance, and resolve any operational issues.
• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements, ensure all vehicle documents, insurance, permits are valid, and uphold safety norms.
• Generate and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports on operational performance to top management.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree; additional qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration are preferred.
• Have 5 to 8 years of practical experience in managing transportation and logistics, especially within eCommerce sectors.
• Experienced in overseeing Last Mile, Middle Mile, and Line Haul transport services.
• Skilled in vehicle sourcing, vendor development, and managing fleet operations efficiently.
• Competent in negotiating transport costs and managing contracts.
• Familiar with transportation financials including budgeting, cost control, and Profit & Loss management.
• Capable of managing large shipment volumes while ensuring SLA adherence.
• Strong expertise in route planning, fleet utilization, compliance, and overall logistics functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel tools such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboards for data analysis.
• Possess excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management capabilities.
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments and skilled in handling multiple stakeholders.

Industry Experience

Experience in sectors including eCommerce, 3PL, Logistics, Supply Chain, Express Distribution, Courier, Transportation, FMCG Logistics, and Retail Logistics is advantageous.
