Job Purpose
This role is centered on live train movement oversight, keeping operations on schedule, coordinating with dispatch teams and other stakeholders, and resolving operational issues quickly so rail transport remains safe and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
The position involves monitoring train movement in real time, maintaining accurate status updates, handling exceptions, and supporting smooth rail operations across the terminal and connected teams.
Train Tracking and Monitoring
- Observe train locations and current movement status continuously, and share precise updates with relevant stakeholders without delay.
Capacity Management
- Record and validate train arrivals and departures, ensure cargo details are correctly documented, and track railcar movement within the terminal.
Incident Management
- Identify operational disruptions or irregularities, support contingency planning, and promptly relay important train-operation updates to internal teams.
Documentation and Reporting
- Gather information on train movement, dwell time, and incidents, then assist in creating performance reports that highlight opportunities to improve efficiency.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety norms and regulatory obligations related to train monitoring, and escalate any concern or violation to the appropriate authority.
Digital Mindset
- Stay informed about digital tools and AI-driven advancements that can strengthen business performance and competitiveness.
Key Stakeholders
Internal stakeholders include the Lead - Rail and terminal operations. There are no listed external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a BE/BTech, ME/M.Tech, or MBA degree.
Experience
The role calls for 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in train monitoring and control, including at least 2 years in the rail industry with exposure to real-time train operations and monitoring systems.
