Role Overview

The Deputy Manager for Quality Control in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) will be based onsite at North Goa. The position has working hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site quality inspections focusing on MEP low side systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical, and low voltage installations.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, and standards.
  • Verify that materials arriving at the site meet approved Material Approval Requests (MARs) and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with planners to support proper sequencing of works and manage handover and takeover of project areas.
  • Implement and enforce Quality Control procedures, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation such as inspection reports, test results, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and records of corrective actions taken.
  • Work in close coordination with site engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Participate actively in review meetings involving clients, consultants, and internal quality teams.
  • Assist in preparing monthly quality reports and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements.

Candidate Requirements

  • A diploma, B.Tech, or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years’ experience managing construction and site execution of MEP low side works, particularly for fitout projects.
  • Experience working with contracting firms and project management organizations on high-end fitout projects from inception through completion.
  • Prior involvement in hotel projects is a preferred advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and leadership qualities.
  • Keen attention to detail for MEP installations, especially before closing shafts and ceilings.
  • Ability to interpret contractor shop drawings effectively.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
