Role Purpose

This position entails managing and implementing maintenance strategies such as predictive, preventive, and corrective actions to maximize equipment uptime. The role includes overseeing the cleanliness and record-keeping of turbines, managing emergency response, and aiding in resource management including labor and inventory control. Additionally, you will assist continuous improvement efforts through detailed reporting, analysis, and skill enhancement programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance operations of mechanical turbines ensuring operational excellence.
• Complete scheduled predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks to uphold equipment availability standards.
• Maintain orderly workspaces and accurate maintenance history for all machinery.
• Carry out internal turbine maintenance and provide rapid resolution during emergencies to reduce downtime.
• Develop detailed Annual and Capital Overhaul reports, ensuring project completion within budget and allocated resources.
• Support manpower and material management, including attendance tracking and expenditure verification.
• Ensure resource plans are adhered to, overseeing the allocation and use of manpower and materials in the turbine division.
• Contribute to budgeting exercises and update standardized maintenance procedures for management review.
• Manage inventory control by issuing spares timely and raising purchase requests under team leadership direction.
• Prepare technical and operational reports for root cause analysis, failure mode assessments, outages, and audits.
• Help identify training needs and participate in ongoing skill development and training programs for technicians and associates.
• Conduct safety training sessions for contractors and ensure updates are logged in the digital tracking system.
• Maintain compliance with relevant safety and quality standards (IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA) and assist in compliance reporting through digital platforms.
• Optimize safety, quality, and resource use during maintenance activities.
• Support digital transformation initiatives through automation and process digitization to increase operational efficiency.

Additional Information

• Engage closely with internal departments such as operations, maintenance, and stores, as well as external contractors.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Tech or BE in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in power plant maintenance and management, preferably within the thermal power generation, utilities, or energy sectors.
