About the Role

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) - Estate Management will oversee comprehensive operational control of estate sites in the South Region, ensuring smooth functioning of engineering, maintenance, housekeeping, infrastructure, vendor management, safety adherence, and upkeep of property capital assets. This position demands upholding continual high-quality facility operations aligned with brand standards, occupant experience, regulatory requirements, and budget efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing supervision of all facility engineering and estate maintenance activities across the property.
  • Formulate and administer yearly facility budgets, capital expenditure plans, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain and optimize mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil works, and utilities to ensure maximum uptime and asset longevity.
  • Supervise engagement with third-party vendors, contractors, and AMC partners; handle contract negotiations and track SLA adherence.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), fire safety, and all local regulatory mandates.
  • Champion initiatives for energy conservation, sustainability, and optimal resource utilization throughout the estate.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a diverse multi-disciplinary team within the South Region.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments such as Operations, Procurement, HR, Finance, Security, and Legal to guarantee seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and present management reports, dashboards, and audit-related documents for senior leadership review.
  • Plan and coordinate emergency response strategies, business continuity measures, and crisis management protocols related to facilities.
  • Supervise renovation, refurbishment, and commissioning of new assets, managing projects from inception through handover.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Residents Welfare Association (RWA) formations, handovers, RERA compliance, legal formalities, and DOD procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Hospitality, or closely related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
  • 12 to 15+ years of progressive experience in facility or estate management, including 4 to 5 years in senior leadership positions.
  • Prior work experience in resorts, hospitality sectors, large estates, or institutional facility management is highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise with MEP systems, vendor relationships, HSE standards, and managing capital projects.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as IFMA, BIFM or equivalent facility management credentials will be considered beneficial.

  • Robust financial skills for budget formulation, cost control, and vendor negotiation.
  • Proactive and practical problem-solving approach with hands-on operational involvement.
  • High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Competency in facility management software, Microsoft Office suite, and reporting tools.
  • Attention to detail and a personable approach in dealing with teams and stakeholders.
