Position Summary
This position leads regional IT for Asia, excluding China and Korea, with responsibility for shaping and reinforcing governance, strategy, and operating discipline across the region. The role works to align local IT practices with Nikon Group policies, improve the return on technology spending, strengthen information security, and support better business performance across regional subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, refine, and sustain a strong IT governance structure across the Asia region.
- Serve as the main point of coordination between Nikon global IT and regional business units.
- Adapt headquarters IT strategy, policy, and governance requirements for regional rollout and ensure consistent adoption.
- Promote alignment and collaboration across roughly 10 countries/entities in the region.
- Work with Japan HQ IT teams to define regional technology direction and investment plans that support business goals.
- Improve the value of IT spending while reducing operational and security exposure.
- Oversee system rollout planning and lifecycle management activities.
- Maintain balance across quality, cost, and delivery expectations for all IT initiatives.
- Identify technologies that can add value and encourage their adoption where they fit business needs.
- Review regional IT security and governance gaps, prepare reports for Japan HQ management, and propose corrective actions.
- Drive implementation and ongoing enhancement of information security controls throughout the region.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry requirements across Asia.
- Track regulatory changes and act early on any likely business impact.
- Lead security awareness efforts and related training for subsidiaries.
- Oversee IT programs using structured project governance and review mechanisms.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 10 years of IT management experience in multinational environments.
- Strong hands-on background in IT governance, information security, and enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale IT programs and cross-border initiatives.
- Well-developed leadership and organizational management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of the system development lifecycle and established best practices.
- Practical expertise in change management and enterprise IT frameworks.
- Sharp analytical thinking, strategic judgment, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience turning business strategy and headquarters direction into actionable plans for Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.
- Excellent communication skills for working with Japan HQ and a wide range of business stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of regional regulatory and security expectations across Asia.
- Willingness to travel within the region approximately 10% to 15% of the time.
