Company Overview

CareEdge Advisory, a fully owned arm of CARE Ratings Limited, offers research and advisory solutions across industries, corporate advisory, and end-to-end ESG support for corporates, financial institutions, banks, and institutional investors.

Role Summary

The position is for a finance and accounts professional based in Mumbai (Andheri) and reporting to the CFO. The role calls for someone who is meticulous, proactive, and capable of handling accounting operations, statutory compliance, reporting, audits, and budgeting support while maintaining accurate books and timely closings.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books and ensure the accounting records are completed on time.
  • Check revenue recognition in line with internal policies, client agreements, and milestone-based contracts.
  • Prepare and reconcile schedules for revenue, billing, unbilled revenue, and unearned revenue.
  • Track debtor ageing, unbilled revenue ageing, and customer advances.
  • Record, review, and reconcile journal entries and general ledger balances.
  • Review bank reconciliation statements and clear open items promptly.
  • Account for provisions, prepaid costs, fixed assets, lease liabilities, and vendor advances.
  • Review accounts payable invoices and ensure they follow approval limits and accounting rules.
  • Drive monthly AP closure and ensure cut-off procedures are followed.
  • Prepare and review statutory compliance items including GST, TDS, professional tax, PF, ESIC, labour welfare fund, and other applicable dues.
  • Check GST returns and TDS returns before filing and ensure payment of statutory liabilities within due dates.
  • Manage Form 15CA, Form 15CB, foreign remittance compliance, and withholding tax matters.
  • Match customer TDS credits with Form 26AS and work with internal teams to resolve differences.
  • Support tax assessments, scrutiny matters, and related departmental proceedings.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax auditors, and external consultants.
  • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents required for audits.
  • Assist with tax audit completion, transfer pricing compliance, and annual tax filings.
  • Work with the Company Secretary on annual returns, DPT-3, MSME compliance, related party transaction filings, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure internal controls and governance requirements are properly followed.
  • Prepare monthly MIS reports, financial summaries, and management dashboards.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial statements, including notes, disclosures, cash flow statements, and liquidity reports.
  • Monitor fixed deposits, interest accruals, and treasury-related reconciliations.
  • Provide financial analysis and variance reporting for management review.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
  • Support budget-versus-actual analysis and variance tracking.
  • Share financial data and insights that aid strategic decisions.
  • Maintain accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate routine work.
  • Help implement finance policies, SOPs, and control frameworks.
  • Take on additional assignments and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Preferred qualification includes Semi-Qualified CA, MBA in Finance, or M.Com.

Experience

Candidates should have 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in finance and accounts. Background in financial services, consulting, BFSI, IT services, or corporate finance will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

The role requires strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting, along with working knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory compliance. Practical exposure to audits and regulatory filings is important, as is advanced Excel capability for pivot tables, lookup functions, and MIS reporting. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, NetSuite, or similar tools is also expected.
