Deputy Finance Manager

Role overview

Freedo Rentals, a high-growth startup under Hero MotoCorp, is hiring a Deputy Finance Manager to support the finance function for a vehicle rental business. The role is centered on startup-style corporate finance, with emphasis on asset tracking, settlements, margins, accounting accuracy, and financial controls across a fast-scaling operation.

What you will handle

• Review the full business flow from collections to payouts and outstanding balances, and identify any gaps in the settlement process.
• Check commission calculations carefully so that revenue contribution and margin realization are recorded correctly.
• Build and maintain a system for tracking vehicle movement from procurement through capitalization and dispatch.
• Monitor vehicle-level profitability by analyzing maintenance, insurance, RTO, and depreciation costs.
• Take ownership of inventory and material tracking to keep wastage under control.
• Work with key stakeholders on financial planning covering expenses, income, growth plans, objectives, risk appetite, tax position, and other strategic inputs.
• Prepare and support financial and valuation models through detailed financial analysis.
• Manage day-to-day and month-end accounting work, including profit and loss activity and balance sheet entries.
• Ensure vendor payments are processed on time and purchase orders are released without delay.

What the role demands

• A very strong eye for detail and accuracy in financial records and reconciliations.
• Advanced spreadsheet capability, including practical use of functions and macros for financial analysis and reporting.
• Ability to interpret cost data and explain business performance through analysis.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to transparent settlements and financial control.
• Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Understanding of the two-wheeler or rental sector is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with tax regulations is required.

Candidate profile

The employer is looking for someone with 4+ years of relevant experience and a qualification such as CA or an MBA in Finance from a Tier 1 college.
