About the Democratic National Committee
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is seeking a motivated Deputy Chief Technology Officer to join its leadership team, driving technology strategy and operational initiatives supporting electoral campaigns for 2026 midterms and beyond into 2028.
Position Overview
This executive-level role reports directly to the incoming Chief Technology Officer and works closely with cross-functional leaders including the Chief Security Officer, Heads of Data & Engineering, Product, and Strategic Partnerships. The role focuses on shaping long-term technology direction, implementing key strategic projects, and enhancing internal processes to support a high-performing and cohesive technical team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in crafting and advocating the long-term vision for DNC Technology, engaging internal and external stakeholders including non-technical partners.
- Lead critical strategic initiatives from conception to execution, potentially including evaluating new technologies and preparing technical support for presidential primaries.
- Optimize internal operational processes such as contract reviews, budget management, and management team support to foster team morale, prevent burnout, and ensure smooth workflows.
- Adapt responsibilities based on the specific strengths and expertise of the appointed candidate.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in defining strategic visions and accomplishing impactful results.
- Extensive experience managing complex technical projects, including product development, technology adoption, and process improvements within tech-focused organizations.
- Skilled at influencing and coordinating cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Background working with major Democratic organizations, campaigns, or aligned entities.
- Experience thriving in dynamic, fast-moving environments and familiarity with emerging technologies like generative AI is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Initiative-taking ability to manage ambiguous or evolving requirements with a results-oriented approach.
- Comfortable remote worker and collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for diverse audiences including executive leadership.
Additional Information
The role requires occasional travel, up to several days monthly. The position is full-time, exempt, and may require weekend work. Due to federal campaign finance regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens or green card holders.
Salary and Benefits
The position offers an annual starting salary of $176,400, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
