Role Overview

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) is the primary execution leader who partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to manage and deliver on the company's strategic, operational, commercial, and financial goals. This role focuses on overseeing the core revenue-producing businesses, driving organizational performance, and ensuring that strategic plans approved by the Board and Executive Management translate into measurable results. The Deputy CEO enables the CEO to concentrate on strategic growth, capital management, acquisitions, and enterprise risk oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO in leading and managing the organization effectively.
  • Execute the company's strategy and meet annual business objectives.
  • Align corporate strategy with department priorities and individual goals.
  • Drive initiatives enhancing profitability, productivity, and shareholder value.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and client focus.
  • Identify and resolve operational and commercial challenges promptly.
  • Lead revenue growth and market share expansion across key business units including Investment Banking, Sales & Services, Wealth Management, Trading & Brokerage, and Treasury & Financial Institutions.
  • Oversee business performance relative to budgets and targets.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies and foster cross-business collaboration.
  • Lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Coordinate management activities across business units, chair executive meetings as assigned, and drive accountability among leadership.
  • Partner with CEO and CFO to achieve financial targets, promote disciplined expense control, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Oversee operational excellence, service delivery enhancements, and organizational resilience.
  • Support governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management, promoting ethical conduct throughout the company.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships and represent the company as delegated.
  • Serve as Acting CEO when required, ensuring leadership continuity and exercising delegated authority.
  • Uphold integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Law, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalents are preferred.
  • At least 12 years of progressively senior leadership experience within financial services sectors including banking, capital markets, investment and wealth management.
  • Proven success managing multiple business units and senior leaders.
  • Track record of driving growth, operational efficiencies, and leading complex organizational and strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and governance frameworks; experience at Executive Committee or Board levels is an advantage.

Purpose of the Role

This position exists to enhance execution capability and management depth, securing disciplined and effective delivery of the company’s strategic, commercial, and operational objectives while enabling the CEO to focus on growth and transformation priorities.
