Role Overview
This full-time position requires on-site presence in Jeddah and involves managing the daily functions of a container depot. The Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing container receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch processes. Key duties include scheduling and overseeing stock levels, managing yard operations, resource allocation, and ensuring efficient use of equipment and facilities. The role also involves supervising and leading depot personnel, setting work priorities and timetables, enforcing company policies, and maintaining health and safety standards. Additional duties entail addressing customer inquiries, collaborating with transport and logistics partners, and generating operational reports to aid decision-making and enhance performance.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Proficient in stock management, including accurate inventory control, container movement tracking, and reconciliation.
- Experienced in operations management to effectively plan workflows, optimize depot operations, and ensure prompt service delivery.
- Strong team leadership abilities to inspire, guide, and develop employees, fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Excellent customer service aptitude to address client needs, resolve issues, and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations, ensuring safe operational procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Relevant background in container depots, logistics, warehousing, or industrial operations is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
- Competence with basic computer tools and ideally experience with depot or inventory management software.
- Educational qualifications such as vocational training, diploma, or degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related fields are preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Jeddah, adapting to outdoor and operational workplace conditions.
