Role overview
As a Department Manager, you will guide and support your team while helping to build a workplace where people collaborate well and feel included. You’ll work in line with H&M’s values and contribute to strong business and team performance.
What you will do
- Lead your team to deliver a strong customer experience by maintaining high operational and visual standards, while also promoting and selling the products.
- Own the performance of your store department by reviewing sales, spotting business opportunities, setting targets, and building action plans to improve results, profitability, and stock levels.
- Oversee workforce planning and scheduling, and make sure opening and closing procedures run smoothly.
- Hire, onboard, and grow your team while creating an inclusive, cooperative culture that encourages development and new ideas.
- Keep track of fashion trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to stay competitive in the market.
- Act as a positive representative of both yourself and the brand in every customer interaction.
Who you will work with
You will be part of the store team, which may include Sales Advisors, Department Managers, Store Managers, Visual Merchandisers, Assistant Store Managers, Cash Office Responsible, and Delivery Responsible in larger stores. You will also coordinate with the wider Area Team and share insights across stores to help drive success. The role supports customers in expressing their personal style through current trends and timeless fashion.

- You have experience in retail management and store operations.

- You are comfortable with sales planning, performance analysis, follow-up, and customer-focused reporting tools.

This is a full-time role based in H&M stores in Mumbai. The position reports to the Store Manager.
