Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and visually presenting high-quality, authentic Italian dishes aligned with hotel recipe standards.
- Cook a range of Italian meals such as pasta, risotto, pizzas, sauces, antipasti, and main courses authentically and consistently.
- Follow established recipes precisely, ensuring quality and correct portion sizes for all food items.
- Support the Chef de Partie in managing daily Italian kitchen section activities.
- Lead and mentor Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants as required.
- Prepare mise en place thoroughly, guaranteeing all ingredients are ready ahead of service.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety consistent with HACCP standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, aid in ordering, stock management, and ensure proper storage.
- Preserve ingredient freshness and quality through correct storage practices.
- Contribute to menu creation by helping develop new Italian dishes and seasonal offerings.
- Implement strategies to minimize food waste and control kitchen costs effectively.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs quickly.
- Keep the workstation orderly, clean, and efficient during every shift.
- Assist with food preparation for buffets, banquets, and special events.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to uphold exceptional food quality and guest satisfaction.
Qualification Requirements
- Possess 2 to 3 years of experience specializing in Italian cuisine within luxury hotels, fine dining, or five-star hospitality.
- Hold a diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of authentic Italian cooking methods and dishes including pasta, risotto, pizzas, sauces, antipasti, and meat and seafood preparations.
- Maintain high standards for presentation and quality in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Understand and apply HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
- Experience thriving in high-volume kitchen environments while ensuring consistency and precision.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced kitchens.
- Exemplary team collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively across various kitchen units.
- Flexible to work on rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Present a professional demeanor with enthusiasm and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
