Job description
Role overview
This is a permanent delivery role based at Bath Delivery Office, BA1 1AA. You will be working 34 hours 30 minutes per week across 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday, with shifts scheduled between 07:30 and 20:00. The position supports two separate shift patterns: 07:30 to 15:30 for letter deliveries, or 12:00 to 20:00 for parcel deliveries. Because of operational needs, you will also be required to work one Sunday in four, from 12:00 to 19:00.
About the role
This is a hands-on delivery position in which you help keep local communities connected by ensuring mail and parcels reach customers reliably, in all weather conditions. The work is active and physically demanding, and it suits someone who enjoys being outdoors, staying on the move, and serving people in their local area.
What you will do
You will carry out delivery duties for letters and parcels, represent the service in the community, and help maintain a dependable and friendly customer experience. The role involves walking for long periods, working outside, and contributing to the day-to-day delivery operation across the local area.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is upbeat, dependable, organised, punctual, and able to work well on their own. You should be comfortable providing strong customer service, be approachable and community-minded, and be happy to walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather.
Licence requirement
A full UK manual driving licence is required, and you must have no more than 6 penalty points.
Pay and benefits
You will receive a guaranteed hourly pay rate of £13.68, paid monthly and adjusted to your hours worked.
- 22.5 days of holiday, increasing with length of service and adjusted to working hours
- Full uniform supplied
- Company pension scheme with competitive employer contributions
- Career development opportunities, including trainee manager roles and apprentice schemes
- Enhanced family support, including maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave
- 24/7 wellbeing support for you and your family, with access to physical, mental, financial, and social support tools
- Discounts on high street vouchers, travel, attractions, beauty products, and gym memberships
- Free stamps at Christmas
Additional information
For candidate search purposes, roles of 35 to 37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role below 37 hours per week is treated as part-time in the employment contract.
