Role overview

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a 3.5T Delivery Driver for its Canterbury branch (CT1 3RB). The business is a specialist trade merchant serving customers across the UK and Ireland, with a strong focus on people, customer service, and long-term career development through the Wolseley Talent Guild.

Compensation and benefits

Key duties

  • Operate a 3.5-tonne tail-lift van to deliver bulky plumbing and heating products, mainly within the CT postcode area.
  • Make deliveries to a mix of customer types, including construction sites, social housing locations, and private customers.
  • Load and unload goods safely, handling heavy items such as boilers, radiators, toilets, and sinks.
  • Support branch warehouse activities when not on the road, including stock unloading, order picking and packing, stock counts, and general housekeeping.
  • Complete vehicle safety checks as part of the role.
  • May also assist customers at the trade counter when needed.

Working pattern

This is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30. Weekend work is not normally required, except during stocktake periods.

Requirements

  • A valid full UK driving licence is mandatory.
  • Experience with multidrop deliveries and operating a 3.5T vehicle is required.
  • Warehouse experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are expected.
  • You should be a reliable team player who is willing to help in the warehouse to keep the branch running smoothly.

This is a permanent onsite role based in Canterbury, Kent. The employer is looking for someone who can contribute across both delivery and warehouse operations as needed.
