Overview
The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) stands as Qatar's pioneering national applied university, offering a variety of applied Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees alongside certificates and diplomas. UDST's academic portfolio encompasses over 50 programs across diverse disciplines including Engineering Technology, Industrial Trades, Business Management, Computing and IT, Health Sciences, and Professional Education sectors. Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academics, the Dean of the College of General Education holds a key responsibility in steering the college's strategic planning and academic leadership. This leadership role involves formulating and executing strategies ensuring the College meets its set goals. The Dean oversees the College's performance, fosters collaboration among faculty, administration, and stakeholders, and nurtures an educational environment that values excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a PhD from an accredited institution and have at least ten years of full-time academic experience at internationally recognized universities, with a proven track record in leading applied research projects. The candidate must be qualified at the full Professor rank. Additionally, three or more years of professional industry experience within the relevant discipline are essential. Experience in program development, accreditation, and technology-driven educational projects is preferred. The candidate must be committed to lifelong learning, continuous professional development, and fostering a collaborative, collegial culture.
Language and Communication
Excellent English communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—are mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic, both written and spoken, is an advantage.
