About the Role

A prominent European software enterprise is seeking a Deal Origination and Business Development Associate to join their expanding Origination & Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team in Dublin. This position focuses on sourcing and evaluating software companies in Ireland and the UK for potential acquisitions.

This role offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience with early-stage M&A activities and business development within a thriving international technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect potential software company targets through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and attendance at industry events.
  • Analyze and research the vertical market software landscape in Ireland and the UK to pinpoint acquisition opportunities.
  • Initiate initial engagement conversations with company founders and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key advisors including corporate finance professionals, legal experts, banking, and wealth management contacts.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry conferences to expand business networks.
  • Utilize CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage and track outreach activities.
  • Keep comprehensive and accurate records of all interactions, insights, and progress related to deal origination.
  • Collaborate with senior team members across Europe to develop and maintain a qualified acquisition pipeline.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of two years' experience in roles such as business development, sales, or lead generation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of confidently engaging with senior decision-makers.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset with a desire to understand technology and software markets.
  • Highly organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international professional environment.
  • Experience within SaaS, technology, or fast-growing companies is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
