The role places the wellbeing and welfare of each service user at the centre of every decision. It calls for a professional approach, a genuine commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities, and a belief in equal participation in community life. Applicants must hold either a third-level qualification relevant to services for people with intellectual disabilities, or at minimum a QQI Level 5 Major Award (full 8 modules) in community development, health, or education. A full manual driving licence valid for driving manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads is required. Candidates should also be familiar with HSE New Directions Standards for Day Services and the person-centred planning process.
