Job description

About the role

Bayernwerk supports the reliable supply of energy to around 7 million people across its Bavarian service areas. The company is actively driving the energy transition, with approximately 400,000 distributed generation systems already feeding green electricity into the network. Through innovative solutions, Bayernwerk is building the energy system of tomorrow. The Bayernwerk Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the E.ON Group, includes a broad mix of business areas such as grid operations, network expansion and development, and customer solutions for e-mobility.

To strengthen the Bayernwerk Netz GmbH team, the company is looking for a Data Steward (m/w/d) as soon as possible. Interested candidates are asked to submit their application by 02.07.2026.

What you'll do

  • Act as the main contact person for the East Bavaria region on data quality topics, including identifying and documenting current data quality issues and supporting the rollout of the data quality framework.
  • Support data quality solutions across specialist departments and serve as the central point of contact for all matters related to data quality.
  • Collect data quality requirements from the business teams and help translate them into clear functional descriptions.
  • Contribute to the design of data quality rules and data maintenance concepts from a business perspective.
  • Assist departments with questions and issues, and provide training on new data quality solutions.
  • Work closely with other Bayernwerk teams to ensure that the required data quality is implemented from both a business and technical standpoint.

What you bring

  • Strong problem-solving ability and the skill to understand complex interdependencies and turn them into clear, practical insights.
  • Confident communication skills and a collaborative mindset to explain concepts and solutions to different audiences.
  • Experience and knowledge in the energy supply sector.
  • Ideally, prior involvement in projects focused on digital, data-driven quality solutions and quality-assured data provisioning.
  • Helpful technical knowledge in database management, ETL, and programming, for example SQL and Python.
  • A completed degree in electrical engineering, computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field.

What we offer

  • An opportunity to help shape the digital transformation, which is a key future priority at Bayernwerk.
  • The chance to work within the E.ON network and benefit from a wide range of perspectives and learning opportunities.
  • Flexible working hours and work locations, plus a flexitime account that allows overtime and travel time to be converted into time off.
  • 30 days of annual leave.
  • A secure collective agreement-based employment package with attractive pay and additional benefits such as Christmas bonus, sickness benefit top-up, accident insurance, and company pension provision.

Additional information

The company maintains an open and appreciative culture and welcomes applications from all people, as differences are seen as a strength. Applications from people with disabilities are especially encouraged and supported as part of the company’s commitment to inclusion.
