Role Overview
The Data Specialist position is fully remote and full-time, tasked with the comprehensive management and analysis of organizational data to aid program operations and inform strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources, maintaining databases with high standards of accuracy and integrity. The role demands analysis of data to reveal trends, develop insights, and produce reports and dashboards that guide leadership and program teams. Collaboration across staff to establish data needs, support performance tracking and impact reporting, and enhance data procedures and documentation is central to this role.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced competencies in data analytics and analysis capable of interpreting large and complex data sets to extract actionable insights.
- Expertise in data management activities including collection, cleaning, validation, and database upkeep.
- Strong abilities in data modeling and analytical thinking to design effective data structures and assist in performance forecasting.
- Proficiency with essential data tools such as Excel, business intelligence platforms, and databases, along with experience creating clear visual and written reports.
- High attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills and the capacity to work autonomously in a remote setting.
- Effective communication skills tailored to convey complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in nonprofit sectors, social services, or organizations focused on youth is advantageous.
- A bachelor's degree related to data science, statistics, information systems, or a comparable field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
