Role Overview
This internship places you with a global consumer goods leader in Singapore, where you will use data, science, and technology to help answer important business questions. The role is geared toward someone who is analytical, curious, confident, and eager to drive meaningful outcomes.
The data science function partners across the business to turn technical capability into practical value. Interns can expect exposure to strategic business problems, modern tools, and a collaborative environment that values initiative and communication.
What You Will Work On
- Contribute either to a central data science group working on shared analytics challenges across supply chain, retail, and media, or to an embedded team focused on eCommerce and consumer-facing problems for a specific brand.
- Take on real project responsibilities from the beginning, including clarifying business goals and producing actionable insights from datasets such as point-of-sale, geospatial, product and supply, direct-to-consumer, CRM, TV media, and online search data across more than 10 countries in the region.
- Develop, validate, test, and deploy machine learning or other data science models into internal technology platforms.
Learning and Support
The internship offers practical exposure to industry-level analytics tools and technologies from day one. You will also receive structured training and ongoing mentoring from professionals in IT and data science while working with cross-functional teams.
Eligibility and Qualifications
- You should be a student expected to graduate in July 2026 and able to complete a full-time 6-month internship from January to June 2026.
- A strong academic record is expected for candidates pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Applied Science, or another quantitatively oriented discipline.
- Strong Python skills are required; familiarity with big data environments and Spark is an advantage.
- Exposure to operations research methods such as optimization and simulation, as well as machine learning approaches like tree-based models, deep learning, and reinforcement learning, is preferred.
- Prior use of machine learning, statistical modelling, or econometrics through coursework or internship experience is expected.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are needed to influence others and drive action.
- You should be comfortable working with people from different functions, backgrounds, and experience levels.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and a proactive, can-do mindset are important.
- The ability to manage several priorities at once is required.
