Role overview

This contract role is centered on accurately handling member and provider selection requests, along with a range of administrative and operational support tasks. The position is fully remote and based out of Los Angeles, CA.

What you will do

  • Receive, review, and complete change requests and doctor selection requests from the member portal and other internal queues in a timely and precise manner.
  • Manage provider termination requests, update membership records as needed, and submit termination letter requests to the members affected.
  • Manually complete provider selections for members who cannot be assigned through the health plan’s automated assignment process.
  • Monitor, document, and report provider selection mistakes identified by call center representatives.
  • Collect, sort, and process incoming returned mail and faxed requests.
  • Handle provider and member disenrollment requests end to end.

Experience and education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The role calls for at least 1 year of experience in data entry or general office work, with entry-level overall experience expected.

Tools and background preferred

Recent healthcare-related experience is important for this opening. Familiarity with health plan operations, data entry work, and common computer tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred. Prior exposure to systems such as ABS, NDS, Macess, or Portico, as well as previous experience with Centene, will be viewed favorably. Candidates may also need to complete a typing assessment and a basic computer skills test.

Compensation and benefits

The pay rate for this role is $23.00 per hour.
