Role Summary
PriceSenz is hiring a practical, execution-oriented Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and establish a dependable data backbone for its products and client work.
The position spans the full data lifecycle: sourcing data from several systems, ingesting it, cleaning and transforming it, structuring it for use, and making it available for downstream consumption. The right person will be comfortable working with imperfect datasets, strengthening data reliability, building repeatable processes, and partnering with engineering and product teams to deliver maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and support end-to-end data flows across multiple data sources.
- Develop better data models and structures to support business use cases.
- Handle ingestion, transformation, normalization, and enrichment of data.
- Build logic for record matching and deduplication to improve data quality.
- Set up validation steps and quality controls.
- Design mechanisms for refresh timing, exception management, and data governance.
- Assist with data integration and operational processes for internal products and client assignments.
- Coordinate with engineering and product teams to operationalize and sustain data systems.
- Maintain documentation for workflows, business rules, and key assumptions.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Data Engineering or another hands-on data-focused role.
- Strong working knowledge of Python.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience dealing with datasets from multiple sources.
- Background in data modeling and normalization.
- Exposure to data quality processes, matching, and deduplication.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a sense of ownership.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environments.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience with business intelligence tools.
- Experience building or supporting workflow automation.
- Prior work in startup or product-led environments.
