About the Position
Persistent is seeking an experienced Data Engineer proficient in Snowflake, Informatica, and Python to architect, develop, and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions. The role involves creating scalable data pipelines, modern data platforms, and cloud analytics systems while ensuring robust data quality, governance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-grade data engineering solutions utilizing Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, and cloud-native technologies.
- Create scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, validating, and processing both structured and unstructured data.
- Develop backend components, APIs, and data applications leveraging Python programming.
- Construct data warehouse, lakehouse, and analytical models to support business intelligence and AI initiatives.
- Build reusable data ingestion and transformation frameworks and components.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, data scientists, and platform teams for designing technical solutions.
- Lead the entire solution lifecycle including architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
- Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for data engineering and AI-related workflows.
- Implement and support MLOps and LLMOps frameworks related to machine learning and generative AI solutions.
- Integrate monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting across AI and data platforms.
- Optimize Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL workloads for enhanced performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with data quality, security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in Agile processes such as sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming, and design reviews.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ongoing platform improvements.
- Produce technical documentation including architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and best practices.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
- 8 to 18 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, cloud platforms, or analytics engineering.
- Proficiency with Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, and enterprise ETL/ELT processes.
- Advanced SQL skills including complex query building, performance tuning, and data optimization.
- Strong Python abilities, especially in backend engineering and API development.
- Experience designing scalable data models, data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure cloud services and cloud-native design patterns.
- Familiarity with building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Knowledge and experience implementing MLOps and LLMOps for model deployment, governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Understanding of AI/ML workflows, generative AI platforms, vector databases, and modern AI system architectures.
- Sound knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
