Role Overview

This is a part-time remote opportunity for a Data Analyst supporting the World Cup 2034 Hosting Higher Authority. The position focuses on turning operational, logistical, and fan-engagement data into insights that help teams make informed decisions.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will work with both structured and unstructured datasets, clean and prepare information, and build reports and dashboards that highlight key trends. You will create visualizations and concise summaries to support decision-making across operations, security, ticketing, and marketing. The role also includes partnering with different teams to clarify data needs, check assumptions, track performance against KPIs, and improve analytics workflows over time.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to analyze data and solve problems, with a track record of drawing practical conclusions from complex information.
  • Hands-on knowledge of analytics and statistics, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R for data preparation and analysis.
  • Experience in data modeling and in using relational databases or data warehouses to organize, query, and optimize datasets.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings in a simple and actionable way for non-technical audiences.
  • Exposure to data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, along with sound storytelling practices for presenting data.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote setup, handling several priorities at once, and meeting deadlines in a fast-moving, event-led environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Interest in major sporting events or the entertainment sector; previous exposure to sports analytics or event operations will be an advantage.
