About Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA)

DMEA is a local electric cooperative serving Southwest Colorado, dedicated to providing affordable, reliable, and safe electricity to around 30,000 members across roughly 37,000 meters in Montrose, Delta, and parts of Gunnison counties. The cooperative also invests in community-strengthening initiatives such as developing renewable energy, new energy technology programs, and a fiber internet subsidiary named Elevate Internet.

Position Overview

The Data Analyst I will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering analytics and reporting solutions supporting both DMEA and Elevate Internet. The position involves handling daily meter data processes to guarantee operational data accuracy and completeness, as well as assisting multiple internal departments through data-driven reports and analyses. Collaborating closely with diverse teams, this role aims to enhance data integrity, optimize business workflows, and provide actionable insights leveraging Power BI, Mosaic, SQL Server, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide data analytics support across all departments at DMEA and Elevate, helping business units by developing analyses, data models, and strategic dashboards.
  • Conduct daily oversight, validation, and exception management for meter data retrieved from AMI systems, ensuring timely integration with downstream platforms.
  • Maintain Mosaic reporting systems by validating data, tracking errors, and executing scheduled reports.
  • Manage iVUE reporting processes, including both scheduled and ad hoc reports to support billing, metering, financial assessments, and auditing requirements.
  • Support creation and upkeep of Power BI datasets, PowerApps, dashboards, and Excel-based reports to meet both operational and strategic business demands.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience in a data analysis or database environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret, analyze, and reconcile large datasets.
  • Familiarity with utility-specific platforms like Mosaic, iVUE, or other billing/metering systems.
  • Possession of a valid United States driver's license.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to frequently stand or sit for long periods and walk as necessary depending on task assignments.
  • Occasional need to push/pull, bend, kneel, squat, or crawl.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires focus for detailed analysis, research, and report preparation.

Compensation

This full-time exempt role offers an annual salary ranging from $82,000 to $112,000.

Benefits

  • Extensive health insurance including medical, dental, and vision coverage through the NRECA's UHC Choice Plus network.
  • Robust retirement benefits featuring a 10% base company contribution along with a 4.5% match when employees contribute.
  • Generous paid time off policies to support work-life balance.
  • Income protection through short-term and long-term disability insurance plans.
  • Discounted memberships at the Montrose Recreation Center and Bill Heddles Recreation Center.
  • Access to a confidential Employee Assistance Program offering mental, emotional, and financial well-being resources.
