Job description

About Stripe

Stripe provides financial infrastructure that helps businesses take payments, expand revenue, and open new paths for growth. Its platform is used by organizations of all sizes, from major global enterprises to fast-growing startups. The company’s mission is to raise the GDP of the internet by making economic opportunity more accessible worldwide.

About the team

This role sits within the Go-to-Market Analytics community and works closely with Communications teams. The goal is to better understand Stripe’s global economic impact and translate that understanding into clear, compelling public-facing narratives that strengthen Stripe’s brand and influence.

Role overview

The Data Analyst, Economic Insights & Communications will uncover and analyze economic trends using Stripe’s data, supported by reliable data pipelines and strong data architecture. The work will focus on turning complex data into practical insights that show how Stripe contributes to economic growth, reveals shifts across industries and cross-border commerce, and supports broader opportunity in the global economy.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Communications partners to shape, define, and drive research projects that showcase Stripe’s economic impact.
  • Share research outcomes both within the company and with external audiences.
  • Form hypotheses, test them quickly using Stripe data, and surface the most notable findings proactively.
  • Create, deploy, and support data pipelines and dashboards using Stripe’s internal data along with relevant public sources.
  • Establish and track core metrics tied to economic impact.
  • Build a deep understanding of business performance drivers, customer segments, cohorts, and broader macroeconomic trends.
  • Collaborate with Communications teams on trend analysis and create content such as social posts, blog articles, reports, briefings, and campaign materials based on Stripe data.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in analytical work involving large datasets.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience maintaining data pipelines with a distributed data framework.
  • Experience creating self-service dashboards or similarly scalable analytical tools for partner teams.
  • Experience turning data into clear narratives and visualizations for external publication.
  • Preferred: a master’s degree in a quantitative field and/or prior analytics experience in the tech industry.
  • Preferred: experience working with institutions that are widely trusted for economic insight by policymakers and the public.
  • Preferred: familiarity with survey design and analysis.

Work arrangement

This position can be based in an office or in a remote location that is at least 35 miles (56 km) from a Stripe office. Office-based employees are expected to spend at least 50% of each month in the local office or with users. Remote employees are expected to work primarily from home, though occasional office visits for team meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events may happen. Stripe does not cover relocation costs for moving to a remote location.

Pay and benefits

The annual base salary range for this role in the US is $161,600 to $242,400. For sales roles, the stated range would represent OTE, but that does not apply here. The final range may vary by level, experience, qualifications, and location. Candidates outside the US may ask for the salary range relevant to their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and wellness stipends.

Who should apply

Stripe encourages candidates who meet the minimum qualifications to apply. A background in quantitative analysis, data storytelling, and building scalable analytics solutions will be especially relevant.
