Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Cyclic Patrol person to join our Transport and Infrastructure team, stationed in the Mokau area. This critical position involves performing scheduled road inspections, executing routine maintenance tasks, and quickly addressing emergencies to ensure the road network remains safe and accessible for public use.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct programmed inspections of roadways to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform a range of upkeep activities including pavement repairs, drainage upkeep, vegetation management, and clearing of road obstructions.
• Respond promptly to unexpected events to maintain safe and clear road conditions.
• Ensure all tasks meet high safety standards and are completed efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Possession of a current Class 2 Driver Licence.
• Previous experience in road maintenance, civil construction, or comparable outdoor operational roles is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Ability to work autonomously and make judicious decisions in field conditions.
• Strong communication abilities paired with reliable reporting skills.
• Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster to handle emergency situations.
