Role Overview

This position supports Gates Canada’s Brantford operations by carrying out cycle counts for finished goods and helping keep inventory data accurate. The role reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager in Brantford.

Key Duties

  • Carry out cycle counts for finished goods inventory.
  • Follow established procedures to keep inventory records accurate for both quantity and storage location.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and complete follow-up corrective actions.
  • Handle warranty returns and decide on credits or refusals based on findings.
  • Take on additional warehouse or inventory-related tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Secondary school completion at minimum (Grade 12).
  • At least 1 year of experience in production planning and/or warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems and cycle counting methods.
  • Strong computer skills.

  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PIV).

Physical Requirements

The role involves regular use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating tools and controls, as well as frequent communication and computer-based work. The employee should be able to move and lift inventory up to 50 pounds, and spend time walking, standing, bending, and sitting across the warehouse floor during audits and safety checks.

Additional Requirements

  • Take an active role in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, including meetings, inspections, and safety culture initiatives.
  • Cross-train in other distribution center functions such as receiving, picking, and shipping to improve operational flexibility.
  • Maintain strong computer proficiency, including data entry and use of inventory spreadsheets and software.
  • Handle additional warehouse and inventory tasks as needed by management.
  • Remain available for shift coverage as required by business needs.

Work Environment

The workplace has a moderate noise level, mild lighting, and a comfortable temperature. Dust may be present, but only minimally.
