Role overview
Aaratech Inc. is hiring a Cyber Security SOC Analyst II to help watch for, assess, and respond to cyber threats. This position also contributes to incident response work and helps improve the organization’s security defenses.
Key responsibilities
- Track and review security alerts through EDR tools such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Defender.
- Examine phishing attempts, malware activity, and unusual network behavior to spot possible threats.
- Handle incident triage, investigation, containment, and escalation when needed.
- Use SIEM platforms, Wireshark, and Active Directory tools to assist with security analysis.
- Record incident details and align observations with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Work with IT and security stakeholders to enhance detection and response processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar discipline is required.
- 0–2 years of professional exposure in IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, SOC Operations, Cyber Security, or Incident Response.
- Hands-on familiarity with EDR tools, SIEM solutions, and security log review.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, Windows security, and incident response workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication ability, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred skills
- Exposure to CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender, Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Basic scripting ability in PowerShell or Python.
- Relevant certifications such as CSA, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GCIH, or vendor-specific EDR certifications are considered an advantage.
