About the Role

Univers, a leader in delivering comprehensive decarbonization systems, is seeking a Cyber Defense Lead based in Singapore to helm its enterprise and production environment cyber defense capabilities. This leadership position reports directly to the Senior Director of Cyber Security, overseeing a 24/7 Security Operations Center and encompassing strategic leadership, technical operations, crisis management, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement an enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy that aligns with business objectives and risk appetite, securing executive backing and ensuring full spectrum security coverage.
  • Develop, enforce, and periodically review security policies, standards, and procedures to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance, including supporting ISMS and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document cybersecurity risks, managing risk exceptions while balancing operational needs and reporting to senior security leadership.
  • Govern security architecture and engineering practices to confirm compliance with best practices and organizational standards.
  • Manage the Security Operations Center's budget, optimizing resource allocation to uphold or enhance security efficacy.
  • Supervise 24/7 SOC operations, including continuous monitoring, incident detection and response, quality control, and escalation management through multiple communication channels and platforms.
  • Lead full incident response cycles, digital forensics investigations, development and maintenance of incident playbooks, and drive post-incident improvements.
  • Oversee threat and vulnerability management efforts, proactive threat hunting, and integration of threat intelligence to bolster security posture.
  • Direct the management and optimization of the security technology suite, including SIEM, SOAR, XDR, WAF, SASE, PAM, TIP, firewalls, and Azure security, with a focus on seamless integration and functionality.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, facilitating audit processes.
  • Design and manage security awareness initiatives and training programs for staff, suppliers, partners, and customers.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing global cybersecurity operations team, including managing internship programs and continuous professional development.
  • Serve as the principal liaison for SOC communications with executives, clients, and cross-functional teams, promoting security integration throughout the organization.
  • Conduct tabletop exercises for SOC staff and company-wide incident preparedness, ensuring readiness and continuous improvement driven by lessons learned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years in growing security leadership and management roles across diverse environments.
  • Proven background in managing cybersecurity operations with hands-on experience in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR), including incident triage and containment.
  • Experience leading and developing comprehensive information security programs which incorporate threat hunting, threat intelligence, and red teaming.
  • Technical proficiency and eagerness to engage directly in complex and detailed security tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud security, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced expertise in digital forensics and incident response tailored for enterprise and product security.
  • Preferred advanced degree or professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or GCFA.
