The role carries both operational and governance responsibilities, helping ensure customs processes are compliant, standardized, transparent, and consistently executed across borders.
The coordinator will serve as the UK customs point of contact, oversee daily customs execution from a regional viewpoint, and contribute to improvements in process control, audit preparedness, performance tracking, and cross-border alignment. The role reports to the Trade & Customs Manager EMEA and partners closely with Transportation, Operations, Finance, and customs teams across the region.
Key Responsibilities
UK customs representation
- Represent the UK customs function as the main contact for customs authorities and border agencies.
- Help ensure adherence to UK customs laws, including requirements introduced after Brexit and obligations under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
- Support the handling of customs registrations, approvals, and related regulatory correspondence.
- Track changes in customs and trade regulations and help put those changes into practice.
Regional customs control tower oversight
- Support day-to-day operations of the EMEA Customs Control Tower with ownership of UK and Mainland trade movements.
- Follow customs milestones end to end and flag delays, risks, and deviations from standard execution.
- Review customs performance indicators, including clearance times, documentation quality, exception rates, and cost or duty impact.
- Escalate operational concerns early and support analysis of root causes and corrective measures.
Administrative control and compliance
- Maintain organized customs records that support traceability and audit readiness.
- Ensure documentation, data quality, and administrative customs processes for UK and Mainland flows remain accurate, complete, compliant, and aligned to EMEA operating procedures.
- Help standardize documentation templates and mandatory data fields across customs flows.
Internal controls and audits
- Carry out regular internal audits across UK and Mainland customs operations.
- Identify compliance gaps, process weaknesses, and execution risks.
- Support the design, rollout, and follow-up of corrective action plans.
- Assist with external audits, authority reviews, and inspections when needed.
Continuous improvement and collaboration
- Contribute to initiatives that reduce customs lead times, improve consistency, strengthen visibility, and improve data reliability.
- Work closely with Compliance, Transportation, Operations, Planning, Finance, and Control Tower teams to maintain alignment.
- Support EMEA customs projects such as process redesign, digital transformation, and system readiness work.
Candidate Profile

- A bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Law, Economics, or a closely related subject is preferred.
