Job description
Role Overview
Based onsite in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, this position reports to the Canteen Porter Supervisor and focuses on keeping the premises well maintained, ensuring work areas and meeting rooms are properly arranged, and addressing facility-related issues promptly.
Key Duties
- Deliver attentive, proactive service to office employees and visitors.
- Partner with facilities and other workplace teams to create a smooth client experience.
- Carry out regular floor inspections to check cleanliness, organization, and any outstanding issues.
- Replenish, clean, and maintain coffee stations, beverage coolers, and water equipment.
- Stay in regular contact with the Canteen lead on a daily and weekly basis.
- Follow security, fire, health, and safety procedures as needed.
- Restock supplies and other consumable items.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors.
- Complete opening and closing walkthroughs.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as required.
What the Role Needs
Previous experience in a hospitality setting is a strong advantage. The job calls for excellent communication and people skills, both spoken and written, along with the ability to work on your own, stay detail-oriented, and handle several priorities while meeting regular deadlines. A professional manner, solid business judgment, and basic computer and office equipment knowledge are also important. The role requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and to spend most of the day on your feet walking through the floors to ensure standards are consistently met.
Compensation and Hiring Notes
The pay range for this role is $22 to $25 per hour, with final pay based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Canadian work experience is not required. The employer may use artificial intelligence-based tools at certain stages of recruitment and screening.
