Customer Success Specialist - Food Science

Position Overview

This role, offered through a partner organization, seeks a Customer Success Specialist with expertise in food science to be based in Canada. Working remotely, the chosen candidate will focus on fostering strong client relationships and guiding businesses operating in regulated sectors. Acting as the main customer contact, the specialist will combine consultative support, project coordination, and inside sales to facilitate smooth customer journeys from initial inquiry through project conclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to customer inquiries via web and phone, serving as the primary liaison.
• Engage in consultative discussions to understand client goals and recommend laboratory testing, labeling, and related services accordingly.
• Create, deliver, and follow up on proposals to drive qualified opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
• Oversee customer relationships post-project initiation by managing onboarding, timelines, status updates, report dissemination, and subsequent follow-ups.
• Coordinate with internal teams to keep projects and commitments aligned with customer expectations.
• Track project progress, address questions, handle billing-related inquiries, and maintain accurate records in CRM and project management software.
• Identify prospects for upselling additional services while preserving trusted advisor status with clients.
• Provide customer feedback and recommend process improvements aimed at enhancing service quality and overall customer experience.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer success, account management, consultative sales, business development, or related client-facing roles.
• Proven capability to handle multiple accounts, sales opportunities, and concurrent projects with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, maintaining professionalism and customer-centricity.
• Competency in interpreting technical services and translating complex concepts into accessible guidance.
• Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot, along with invoicing software like QuickBooks or equivalents.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and project management platforms.
• Ability to work independently in a remote but collaborative environment while demonstrating promptness and accountability.
• Availability to work full-time during Mountain Standard Time or Pacific Standard Time business hours.
• Preferred experience within food science, laboratory testing, food manufacturing, dietary supplements, pet food, or similarly regulated fields.
• Understanding of regulatory standards including food labeling, nutrition facts panels, FDA, USDA, or AAFCO guidelines is advantageous.
