Job description
About ASB Advice Centres
ASB places customers at the centre of its work and is guided by the values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity. The organisation is focused on creating excellent experiences for both customers and communities, and is continuing to evolve its Advice Centres. The Hokitika team is looking for someone enthusiastic about making a positive impact.
In this locally connected branch environment, you will also contribute to the Hokitika community by supporting customers with their goals and helping strengthen the wellbeing and growth of the region.
Previous banking experience is not required. People from retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided.
Role Overview
As a Customer Specialist, you will assist customers with day-to-day banking needs and guide them toward using digital and self-service banking options more effectively. The role involves working across several channels while helping the branch operate efficiently and maintaining strong customer relationships.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based in the Hokitika branch.
What You Bring
You are likely to do well in this position if you enjoy working with people, build relationships easily, adapt quickly, and care about delivering a high-quality customer experience. Confidence in asking questions, understanding customer needs, and encouraging the use of digital banking tools will also be important.
Benefits
The role comes with a competitive salary, staff banking benefits, health, life, and income protection insurance, as well as opportunities to develop your career and grow internally. You will also join a supportive and inclusive team culture.
Additional Information
ASB describes itself as a team working together to accelerate progress for all New Zealanders. Candidates who are ready to begin or advance their career with ASB are invited to apply.
Successful applicants will need to complete pre-employment screening, which includes police, credit, AML, and qualification checks for both New Zealand and overseas qualifications where relevant.
