Role Overview
The Customer Service Representative will manage patient healthcare accounts by negotiating payment agreements with patients or guarantors and aiming to meet or surpass performance and quality standards. This position requires daily completion of account-related responsibilities efficiently to speed up the patient payment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in inbound and outbound communications using an auto-dialer, negotiating payment plans by reviewing account histories from Savista’s database and client payment portals.
- Maintain a minimum quality score of 96% through excellent customer service and precise documentation of interactions.
- Follow established procedures for third-party approvals, billing, and recovering overdue accounts.
- Perform routine and repetitive tasks with diligence and attention to detail.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient or client calls and emails.
- Assist other departments by serving as backup when needed, as directed by supervisory staff.
- Adhere strictly to Savista’s Compliance Program policies including HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and other relevant regulations, ensuring ethical handling of patient data and timely reporting of compliance issues.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Have at least one year of healthcare customer service experience or hold a relevant healthcare certification or degree.
- Demonstrate a minimum of six months experience in high-volume inbound or outbound call environments, or have completed comparable training.
- Proven ability to access and manage multiple databases or screens simultaneously to support customer conversations.
- Experience accurately documenting customer interactions in real time.
- Track record of achieving performance targets.
- Proficiency with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information for customers.
- Experience handling customer support issues and their resolutions.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Availability to work shifts between 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with performance measurement and goal attainment.
- Experience operating dual monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of using dialer systems.
- Background in roles with performance-based commission structures.
- Skill in reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents.
- Ability to enter demographic and insurance information accurately.
Additional Information
In compliance with state laws, an hourly salary range of $16.00 to $18.00 applies when hiring residents in specified locations, subject to factors like geography, candidate qualifications, certifications, and skills.
