BlueScope develops steel-based products and solutions that support vital parts of society, including well-known brands such as COLORBOND steel.

About the Opportunity

BlueScope Distribution is hiring a Customer Service Officer to join the customer service team at its MetalCorp site in Kewdale, Western Australia. The division provides a single-source range of products, processing, and service solutions across steel and aluminium, supporting customers in different industries to complete projects on time and to the required standard.

This role suits someone who is enthusiastic, service-focused, and ready to learn. No background in a specific industry is required. A positive approach, willingness to grow, and a genuine desire to assist customers are the most important qualities.

In this permanent full-time position, you will act as a main point of contact for sales and service queries. You will handle new orders and quotations, share product and pricing information, and manage everyday customer requests. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:30pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Respond to customers by phone and email, managing quotations and general enquiries.
  • Follow up on quotes and enquiries and turn suitable leads into sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, warehouse, and sales to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to identify new business and sales potential.
  • Look for ways to improve the customer experience and strengthen the overall value offered to customers.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a customer service setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Confidence in solving problems quickly and effectively.
  • A proactive attitude toward building positive working relationships.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and the ability to pick up new systems easily.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Access to health and wellbeing support, including an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Employee Real Deals and ongoing learning, support, and training.
  • Opportunities to learn, develop, and grow your career within the business.
  • A workplace culture focused on inclusion, safety, wellbeing, and teamwork.
  • Flexible work-life support through the B-flex program.
  • An environment that welcomes women and First Nations people to apply.
  • Commitment to sustainability, including climate action and the 2050 net zero goal.
