Job description

Role overview

This retail position is based in Clontarf and reports to the Shop Manager. The main aim of the role is to create an excellent experience for customers by being welcoming, helpful, and well informed. You will support the smooth daily operation of the shop, maintain high standards throughout the day, handle bet acceptance and payouts, and deliver strong customer service. The job also includes opening and closing duties, and at times you may be asked to take charge of shop operations.

What you will do

  • Support the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with the everyday running of the store.
  • Take responsibility for store operations when the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager are unavailable.
  • Open and close the shop as required.
  • Lead and support the shop team when needed.
  • Follow cash-handling processes accurately.
  • Handle customer bets in line with procedure, using betting terminals and in-shop EPOS transactions efficiently and correctly.
  • Represent the brand positively and help customers understand the multi-channel and digital journey.
  • Deliver service in a calm, professional manner even in a busy or pressurised environment.
  • Maintain high shop presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the working day.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Work closely with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Support social responsibility obligations.
  • Introduce customers to the company’s in-shop and online products and services.
  • Use training and on-the-job support to keep improving your skills and progress within the business.
  • At times, manage the shop operation, creating opportunities for further development.

  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • High level of honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity.
  • Flexibility to work across a business that operates seven days a week.
  • Comfortable adapting to a retail shop setting.
  • Good attention to detail and solid numerical ability.
  • Friendly, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Interest in sport and sporting events, with confidence building relationships with customers.
  • Ambition to grow and progress within the company.
  • Promotes the brand well and remains focused on results.
  • Clear communication skills.

  • Strong cash-handling practices.
  • Retail or industry experience is a plus, but not required because full training is provided.
