About the Role
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver and become the friendly face delivering our services directly to customers across Ireland. This role involves physically active tasks and diverse daily activities, providing a dynamic work environment where no two days are alike. You will largely work independently, managing your delivery schedule while having support from your team and managers when needed. Various shift patterns are available, providing flexibility within your working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver an outstanding home shopping experience by prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Assist with loading delivery vans when required and ensure vehicle roadworthiness before departure.
- Follow the planned routes and schedules designed for your delivery circuit.
- Maintain professional appearance through uniform compliance to present a positive image.
- Operate vehicles safely, responsibly, and in adherence to traffic laws.
- Demonstrate courteous behavior towards all road users.
- Engage customers warmly, addressing them by name to personalize service.
- Handle customers' deliveries with care and attention, as if they were your own belongings.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a full Irish or EU driving license (manual or automatic) for a minimum of two years with no more than 3 penalty points recorded.
- Possess safe driving habits and courteous road behavior.
- Enjoy engaging with and assisting customers.
- Exhibit a friendly personality, good sense of humor, and strong communication skills.
- Show initiative and apply practical judgment regularly.
- Be committed to positive impacts on customers and team members alike.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.
Note: Job offers are conditional on successful Garda Vetting and provision of current penalty points documentation from the National Driver Licence Service. Applications are ineligible if disqualified from driving in the past 10 years. Successful candidates will also need to provide bank account details before starting work.
